Countries invited to date for 2014 include: Taiwan, Turkey, Trinidad, Colombia, Russia, Romania and USA–Hawaii. Also invited to perform are the Warriors of Anikituwah and Tsalagi Touring Group from the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and many talented Appalachian bluegrass musicians and clogging groups.

Folkmoot USA, The State International Festival of North Carolina, is a celebration of the world’s many cultures through music and dance. Held each summer across the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, Folkmoot features performances, a parade and workshops by up to 300 performers from about nine world cultures.

Performers demonstrate cultural heritage through colorful, authentic and original reproduction costumes, lively dance and traditional music. During its 30-year history, over 200 folk groups from more than 100 countries have shared their heritage and culture at the Folkmoot Festival.
