2009 Festival Tickets Now on Sale for Friends of Folkmoot!
As of April 1, 2009, performance tickets for Friends of Folkmoot can be purchased by calling the Ticket Office, 1-877-FOLKUSA. This is your chance to reserve the best seats before tickets go on sale to the general public on May 1, 2009.

"Lithuanian Spring Fling" Fundraiser Kicks Off 2009 Festival
Folkmoot USA invites you to "A Lithuanian Spring Fling" fundraiser on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 7:00 - 9:00 pm, at the Gateway Club in downtown Waynesville. Featuring a lively exclusive performance by Lithuanian dance group Dainava. Learn to dance or just chat with the performers while enjoying drinks and hors d'ouvres!
Folkmoot 2009 Photography Contest
Folkmoot is now accepting photographic entries for the Folkmoot USA 2009 poster. Images should be submitted on CD accompanied by printed photographs. Call the Folkmoot offices for a submission form, 1-877-FolkUSA, or email info@folkmoot.com. Entries must be received by April 9, 2009.
Waynesville Public Art Commission to Celebrate FOLKMOOT
In January of 2009, the Waynesville Public Art Commission will issue a call for artists for its second commissioned public art project.
Folkmoot 3rd Annual 5K Results
Saturday's Folkmoot 5K race included 244 registered runners, a 40% increase in participation since 2007! Great weather was on our side, along with plenty of volunteers, participants & Japanese drummers at the finish line.
The top 10 finishers of the race were as follows

2008 Photography Contest Winner Announced
Folkmoot's 3rd annual photography contest winner is Tommy Hutto of Bethlehem, Georgia. Tommy's photograph of a beautiful Mexican dancer was taken at Folkmoot's 2007 Parade of Nations. This winning entry will be Folkmoot's 2008 festival poster and program cover.
The competition attracted participants from several states with a total of more than 50 individual entries submitted. The 2008 contest was part of a series of events planned to celebrate the 25th year of Folkmoot.
Folkmoot Named Top 20 Event in Southeast
Folkmoot, North Carolina's International Festival, has again been named a top 20 event in the southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society. This is the 18th time that Folkmoot has earned the award. A previous recipient of the Governor's Business Award for the Arts and Humanities among other recognitions, Folkmoot is known throughout the world as a strong presenter of quality international cultural heritage programs.
