Folkmoot USA, The State International Festival of North Carolina, is a two-week celebration of the world's cultural heritage through folk music and dance. Held each summer across the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, Folkmoot features performances, a parade and workshops by up to 350 performers from about ten countries.
Performers demonstrate cultural heritage through colorful, authentic and original reproduction costumes, lively dance and traditional music. During its 28-year history, over 200 folk groups from more than 100 countries have shared their heritage and culture at the Folkmoot Festival.
The current schedule of performances is posted to the left under "What's New?" The Folkmoot Festival features public performances at venues throughout Western North Carolina.
The Parade of Nations is scheduled for July 20 at 1pm on Main Street in Waynesville.

The Folkmoot 4.01K Run/Walk and Kid's Fun Run will take place the weekend before the Festival begins on Saturday, July 14 at 8am. New course in 2012! A bit shorter than a traditional 5K race, Folkmoot's new 4.01K will run through downtown Waynesville, starting on Main Street. More information to come.
